The other actors are good- Horatiu Malaiele in the lead role and if I am not mistaken, director for one of the productions.
Parts of the dialogue are not much to think about.
There are just words spoken in various languages, which one or the other of the participants does not understand. Once in a while we have the man who keeps asking in English questions which another does not understand. Here the tone and attitude are crucial and George Constantin is great and Valentin Teodosiu in another adaptation is not bad at all.
There is another who keeps talking in Spanish, geogges another if I am not confused, for it is a light entertainment I did not give it my full feydaeu is an arrogant fool.
Wives are involved in deceit, they set up traps for husbands and I remember the revolving part of the stage which kept hiding and then showing various infidels. Some of the humor is good, hearty and then parts are a bit crude. Gworges is a character that has a speech feeydeau and I know that would be frowned upon in the too?
The husband who desires pleasure, or is it sins? This is no War and Peace, although feeydeau moral issues may be envisaged: Be kind to others — the owner of the inn is very cruel to his servant and seeing that one feels how awful a mean person can look. Be open and Interested- interest is another way to achieve Positivity- for you can find fun in The Flea in The Ear- the title in fact is a bit of a turn off, it sounds silly, if not stupid to me, but it goes to prove that sometimes there is a gem hidden in the dirt.

I do not strongly recommend this read, but if you just want to relax and laugh Aug 29, Olivia rated it liked it. A long tradition of clever, behind-the scenes mis-matching affaires, outrages and plain muddle cleverly stitched into smooth side-splitting humour and fun.
Not slapstick, not buffoonery. Clever word play with slick performances to contrive quick humour with a hint of malice. Too good to miss. They do not age.
Some of the feorges modern protagonists do suffer from ‘topic fade’ which is always a problem for a comedian. However, these tend to be timeless. The plight of humans in precarious positions. The problems people create for themselves in order to benefit then failing miserably. Sep 11, David rated it really liked it. Perhaps more than any drama, farce suffers greatly from sub-par execution on stage, but if you can catch a good production of this, your sides will hurt from laughing so convulsively.
Jan 26, J rated it really liked it. Probably the most overtly sexual play of the times in the fun sense, unlike the tormented sense the Scandinavians brought to it. Sep 20, Charlie Devlin rated it really liked it. A nicely upbeat and incredibly humorous play.

Nov 23, Jori Richardson rated it really liked it Shelves: This little play really surprised me! My edition gave me no clue as to its content, though I was able to distantly recall the name Feydeau as being related to the Bell Epoque era. This farce proved impossible to put down once I started it, and I devoured it in one sitting.
The characters are distinctive and memorable – my favorites being a man with a speech impediment, a crazed jealous Spaniard, and an arrogant, flirtatious husband.

In “A Flea in Her Ear,” a wife suspects her husband of being unfaithful, so she writes him a supposed love letter from another woman, to test his reaction. Typical of French literature, this book is endlessly clever and full of sharp humor, as well as plenty of suggestive laughs that often do more than just suggest. This play is one of my favorites! I will definitely be reading more of Georges Feydeau! This has more to do with me than with him.
I’m sure I’ll return to him in time. He spins words into gold – a Rumplestilskin for the ages. This play is hilarious and it’s so much fun to perform!!!
