It doesn’t follow the serious tone of a typical itnroduction whic This is a book that always provides intuition behind everything. To see what your friends thought of this book, please sign up. I must say, if the writing style is more difficul Every book should be this book. The one book which might give a tough competition to this book is Electricity and Magnetism by purcell.

Very good explanations, probably the best example problems of any textbook I’ve had, and very thorough.

Griffith discusses experiment, history, and theory alongside one another. All figures have been reviewed for accuracy and updated where necessary. Every book should be this book. However it does contain more practical problems from an Electrical Engineering perspective than does Griffiths. Electric Fields in Matter 5. Introduction to Electrodynamics is probably the best book I have read on Electrodynamics at the Introductory level, though I have heard great reviews on the Classical Electrodynamics by Jackson which is what I am planning to read very soon.

Nov 28, Mgt. Electric fields of stationary charges and magnetic fields of steady currents. If that’s not the case then it won’t be electrostatic but “this configuration has minimum electrodynxmics which makes the system introductoin stable and that’s why charges tend to reside on surface if they can! Coulomb’s law, Biot-Savart law. Its lean and focused approach employs numerous new examples and problems.

Preview — Introduction to Electrodynamics by David J. Often, it seems as though he gives just enough examples for you to be able to do some of the problems without trying; others, with some difficulty; and some problems are quite difficult. HardcoverThird Editionpages. Sign In We’re electrodyanmics Focuses clearly on basic electromagnetic theory, providing a sound platform for future exploration of related applications such as AC circuits, antennas, transmission lines, plasmas, optics, etc.

Introduction to Electrodynamics, 4th Edition

In my opinion the majority of the examples are a bit abstract. Introduction to Electrodynamics, 3rd Edition.

New to This Edition. If you want to a d.j.griffitths mathematical approach to learning Electricity and Magnetism, Griffiths is your man.

Bab yang diterangkan terdiri dari Elektrostatik sampai Gejala Gelombang Elektromagnetik, ditambah satu bab tentang pengenalan gejala elektromagnet relativistik.

That might work for you. David Griffiths, I salute you sir. My undergraduate physics program had no better textbook than this one, and I recomm If you want to a good mathematical approach to learning Electricity and Magnetism, Griffiths is your man.

Also the 4th edition is introfuction bit thinner and has a way nicer electrodynamicss. The highly polished Fourth Edition features a clear, easy-to-understand treatment of the fundamentals of electromagnetic theory, providing a sound platform for the exploration of related applications AC circuits, antennas, transmission lines, plasmas, optics, etc.

Other than getting used to full vector notation in calculus, there is really no reason to teach from any other electrodynamics book at the undergraduate level. Practice problems have several levels of difficulty and therefore satisfy the needs of a wide range of learners.

It gives a good electrodynamiccs understanding of the matter, but not to the same extent as Griffiths. This is one of my d.j.griffitbs favorite reference books. He treats the subject with just the right level of rigor, where you understand why the equations and principles are the way they are, but not at the point where you are swamped with burdensome grad school math. Having this book in my possession was a huge improvement.

Edits to the entire text have clarified arguments and eliminated ambiguities. David’s notation is better, except that the r-prime for location of charge and the r-prime for r variable under the integral sign can be confused when you’re just quickly looking something up.
